In conjunction with Independent Curators International and Salon de Fleurus—the touring reconstruction of Gertrude Stein's salon—I researched and curated a selection of books that would have been in Stein's personal library from 1904 through 1934. These materials are presented alongside the touring exhibition and supplement its educational component. A timeline of Gertrude Stein's life and career through this period accompanies the bibliographic selection, including an annotated outline of the many interconnected friendships, rivalries, and relationships of all kinds that made her salon such a locus of Parisian social life.
